Registrars
Is your registrar accredited by the Restena Foundation and its DNS-LU service for .lu? Offer your clients 2,800 new .lu domain name combinations.
A ‘transparent’ general provision
Starting on 15 December 2020, the Restena Foundation will make available the .lu domain names with 1 and 2 characters not allocated during the two Sunrise and Landrush registration periods defined as part of its policy of opening of short domain names.
As of this date, any unregistered 1 and 2 character domain name is available for registration through all .lu accredited registrars. The existing communication interfaces between the .lu registry and the registrars will be updated automatically. Registration will then take place under the normal terms and conditions defined by each registrar by setting an annual fee on a "first come, first served" basis.
Possible transfers during Sunrise and Landrush periods
However, starting with the first 1 and 2 character domain names registered by the Restena Foundation, any .lu accredited registrar will be able for transfer as usual on request from the holders. Once their domain names are registered with the Restena Foundation's DNS-LU service (the only authorised registrar during Sunrise and Landrush periods), these holders will be able to transfer them at any time to the registrar of their choice.
