Introduction and rules

The information below applies only to domain names managed by DNS-LU using the standard procedure based on paper documents. Note that all conditions and forms comply with Luxembourg data protection legislation and specifically the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.

The Terms and Conditions lay down the rules that apply to registration of domain names under the .lu country code top-level domain (ccTLD).

The Terms and Conditions take into account the provisions of the Domain Name Charter.

The Fees document presents detailed information on the fees for standard domain name registration and renewal.

The terms and conditions and the rules governing the use of the WHOIS database are laid down in the WHOIS Database Accceptable Use Policy. Those conditions have been updated within the framework of the coming into force of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as of May 25th 2018.
