What are the advantages of registering through a registrar?
The registrant registers his domain name directly with the registrar of his choice, with whom he signs a contract. However, the RESTENA Foundation’s DNS-LU service continues to manage the .lu domain name database.
The domain name holder can then benefit from the expertise of his registrar who will be able to offer him a domain name and hosting, which will make his online presence easier to implement. He will also have access to the registrar’s support for all the requested services.
The holder will only receive an invoice from the registrar, including, where appropriate, for payment for his domain name. Operations are performed entirely independently by each registrar using a technical interface developed by DNS-LU. The registrar invoices its customers for domain name fees and all related charges (e.g. hosting fees, etc.) based on its own price lists. Ultimately, DNS-LU invoices only its registrars for all operations registered by them on behalf of their customers.
