Deleting a domain name
For domain names managed by DNS-LU, deletion of the name can be requested at any time. If names are managed through the classic procedure, written instruction from the holder, represented by the administrative contact, is required. Instructions from other contacts are not accepted. For management through the online platform my.lu, the manager deletes the name on behalf of the domain name holder.
There shall be no reimbursement of fees paid, not even partial, for deletion during the subscription period.
If your domain name is managed through a registrar other than DNS-LU, you should contact your usual registrar directly to find out under what conditions and how a domain name can be deleted.
N.B.: even if the website hosting contract with the provider is terminated, the corresponding domain name is not automatically deleted. You should always check with your registrar whether a specific domain name is still registered and then delete it.
