Who must pay the invoice?
If the domain name is managed using the DNS-LU online platform my.lu, only the manager with the login and password details may access the domain name user account and is thus the only person who can pay for domain names managed online. The manager is always the recipient of the invoice. The manager and the registered billing contact do not necessarily have to be the same person. To make organisation easier, you may prefer the manager and the billing contact to be the same person, although this is not essential. In practice, this means that if a billing contact is not the manager, he has no access to the online account and cannot pay for operations relating to domain names.
If the domain name is managed using the DNS-LU classic procedure, the invoice is payable by the billing contact to whom it is sent. When making a payment, the billing contact must quote the invoice number. DNS-LU makes no checks into the person making a payment. DNS-LU does not guarantee allocation of a payment to the right domain name if the invoice number is missing, incomplete or incorrect and assumes no responsibility if, in this situation, a domain name is deleted due to non-payment or underpayment. This applies whether any error or deficit is found with regard to the bank or the person making the payment.
