Approving a transfer request
For a transfer request to be completed properly, we recommend that certain measures are taken to ensure sufficient information and communication between the different parties involved in the operation. The most important of these are:
- make sure that the current representative (administrative contact) has a valid email address to which he has access
- notify the administrative contact when a transfer request is pending. This is especially important when the administrative contact is a third party not working for the entity involved in the transfer request
- inform the administrative contact that he will have to formally approve a request via the email sent to him for this purpose
- make sure that the registrar follows the alternative procedure if there is no response from the representative: if there is no response within 7 days, the registrar should prepare and send a fax to the representative. The representative should then return it, duly signed, to the registrar for checking. This fax shall be taken as approval of its transfer. The registrar should send this fax to the RESTENA registry immediately. RESTENA will then confirm on behalf of the holder
- check with the new (future) registrar that it has received the transfer request (complete and correct information) and entered it into the system
- check that the period in which the request can be performed has not passed (request made more than 2 weeks ago) or that the representative has not already rejected the request. In this case, you should contact the registrar and ask him to repeat the operation
- if you are in any doubt as to the status of a transfer request, always contact the future registrar who has the means to perform the requested operation
