The differences between management using the DNS-LU-online platform my.lu and classic registration.
As a registrar, DNS-LU offers all applicants and .lu domain name holders two different options for the registration and management of their domain names.
- The classic option: this is the paper-based procedure that has been in place since DNS-LU started registration of .lu domain names. Any operation requests should be submitted using the standard forms provided by DNS-LU. The same applies for the invoice, which is always sent as a hard copy to the contact nominated by the holder.
- The online platform my.lu: this domain name registration and management tool has been available to all registrants since the first half of the year 2010. A manager uses this platform to enter and process operation requests, including payment on behalf of the domain name holder, online. In principle, no paper documents are sent between the holder/manager and DNS-LU. This is also true for the invoices, which are no longer sent as hard copies. The main advantage of this platform is that it is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and needs not require additional involvement of DNS-LU representatives.
There are also differences in terms of contractual provisions, fee amounts, payment terms and deadlines, operation performance times and so on. This list is not exhaustive and if you are in any doubt, please read the relevant sections on the dns website or contact DNS-LU directly.
