What transport protocol does the EPP server use?
The EPP Server speaks two variants of EPP over TCP, RFC3734 and a DNS-LU alternative.
The DNS-LU alternative EPP over TCP protocol is based on UTF-8 encoded TCP stream.
The EPP Server reads from the connection until it encounters the sequence '</epp>' which denotes the end of a command. After processing the command it starts reading again. White-space between commands is ignored and may be used for keep-alive. The '<?xml ... ' header is optional.
A very basic method of executing EPP commands (unix style):
localhost $ cat epp_login.xml epp_command.xml epp_logout.xml \
| netcat epp-test.dns.lu 1700 > epp_responses.xmlIn the above example epp_login.xml, epp_command.xml and epp_logout.xml contain each a single EPP command (login, logout and the 'payload' command that should be executed).
The epp_responses.xml file will contain the replies from EPP Server: greeting, response to login, response to command and response to logout. Note that the EPP server closes connection after successful logout.
